Our annual creative arts was a brilliant success, once again. A whole 5 days dedicated to music, art, DT, drama and dance! This year our theme was taken from a musical inspiration: Pictures at an Exhibition, composed by Modest Mussorgsky. Click the padlet link below to see and hear some of our work. Enjoy!
Our year 6 pupil (2021) Mia came third in the county Rhapsody Song Writing Competition, organised by Cambridgeshire Music Hub. The competition was open to pupils across Key Stages 2 to 5 and Mia's song was shortlisted and ultimately came third when judged by the panel ahead of the concert. Here is Mia performing her song. Year created their own Rainstorm using Body Percussion sounds, and thought about the texture and dynamics of our music. You will hear the texture building as the 'rain' gets heavier. The storm gets louder in dynamic and then the thunder arrives! As the storm passes the rain eases and finally stops.
(The sound quality of the recording is not clear, because we recorded this whilst Covid-19 mitigations were in place. All the classroom doors and windows were open!)
We used our ukuleles, glockenspiels and different unpitched percussion to perform the song 'That's Just Life'. Click the link below to hear our audio recordings.
We have weekly singing and music assemblies as a whole school. As part of this, there is an open invitation to everyone to offer to perform to the rest of the school (search #performanceWednesday or #performanceTuesday). Here are some recordings of our pupils' performances.
