At Linton Heights Junior School, we believe that the children have a vital role to play in the leadership and direction of the school and school improvement. We also believe that it is important to take on responsibilities to prepare them for their futures. There are a number of ways that children at Linton Heights can get involved in pupil leadership. All of these roles are elected (either by children or staff) which teaches children the importance of democracy.

The Senior Leadership Team (SLT), made up of Mr Puxley, Mrs Webb, Mrs Chapman, Miss Farr, Mrs Komodromos and Mrs Graves, are always striving to improve our school for everyone. This exciting opportunity allows you, a pupil at Linton Heights, to get involved with ensuring our school is the best it possibly can be.
Job Title: Junior Leadership Team (JLT) member (1 per class)
Contract: One year position
Roles and Responsibilities:
Be a positive role model for other children clearly demonstrating all school values.
Attend school council meetings
Attend SLT meetings
Work alongside SLT to lead school improvement
Speak to visitors including governors about your learning and the school
Make decision about various aspects of school life e.g. Focus for Children in Need day, rewards etc Application procedure:
Please write a letter to Mrs Webb explaining why you would like the job and why you think you would be good at it. This will be shared with all staff who will vote for their preferred candidates. Unfortunately children who have already been elected at house captains, vice house captains or school council members this year can not apply. You may apply if you were JLT last year.
